I should be happy that we both got jobs (at least informally) in the same place (A), but insead I am sad that TE has to reject his really great offer in place L. He even liked all the people he met there, and it was in his favorite sub field.
I'm a new professor in an engineering/science field. I am a theorist, but not because I don't like to tinker around with things in the "real world"! I guess I need some nicknames here: if I'm the "Tinkering Theorist", my ex-husband should be "Tinkering Experimentalist" (TE). Our kid I nicknamed little poker (LP) here because he liked to poke at things (rather than really being able to tinker). I have an "even littler poker" (ELP) too. Also have a new partner, BB.
